Lincolnshire

Here are parts of 5 sites  south of Lincoln surveyed with a Bartington Grad601/2 magnetometer and processed using ArcheoSurveyor software.

The surveyor would be pleased for details of any comparable sites in that area in order to assist the publication of these sites.

Some detail has been lost in compressing the illustrations to enable them to go onto the web page. We are soon to re-do these as we need to ensure that the scale bars are accurate. The surveys were so large that the grid lines got lost when compressing the pictures to go onto the website. The centre of site 1 has also become fuzzy when being compressed so this will be sorted out soon.

Site 1

Part of 8 hectare survey. Only Roman pottery on the ground surface.

Site2

Part of 10 hectare survey. Few surface finds and those were Roman and Iron Age pot and the occasional Roman coin.

Site3.

Part of 7 hectare survey. Only Roman building material on ground surface.

Another area. 30m grids - Some grid lines have disappeared in the reduction to get them onto the web page .
